About
Autism extends beyond the age of 18, and as individuals transition from the structured environment of high school to adulthood, they face a heightened risk of experiencing social isolation and adopting a sedentary lifestyle. Unfortunately, existing services and community programs for autistic adults are often fragmented, unaffordable, or insufficient in meeting their unique needs. That's where we come in.
Autism Home Base (AHB) provides safe, adapted social and recreational opportunities through which autistic adults and their families can explore new interests and connect with a supportive peer community. Through virtual, community-based, and on-site programs at our Autism Hub, located in the heart of Bowmanville, we are building a community for the often-overlooked adults still living at home with family caregivers.
